Several destinations and organizations in the Levittown area were recently announced as the recipients of grants from the Bucks County Tourism Grant Program, according to a staff report from Levittown Now.

This year, the Bucks County Tourism Grant Program will distribute $574,650 to 56 organizations.

The collaborative program between Visit Bucks County and Bucks County government was established in 2008 and plays a major role in the development and growth of the tourism sector in Bucks County. It is funded through a portion of the county’s lodging tax.

Since its inception, the program has provided more than $6.7 million to over 130 organizations.

Organizations can use the grants for various undertakings that help bolster tourism, such as marketing initiatives, events and exhibitions, product development, and capital improvements.

The recipient of the program’s special award for 2023 is the Friends of Washington Crossing Park in Upper Makefield and Solebury townships.

Among this year’s recipients are the African American Museum of Bucks County, Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve, Bucks County Center for the Performing Arts, Bucks County Wine Trail, New Hope Historical Society, and Oscar Hammerstein Museum & Theatre Education Center.
