Bucks County is joining seven other counties in Keystone State in being officially removed from the drought watch list, according to a staff report for LevittownNow.

The decision to take Bucks County off the watch list followed a recent meeting of the Commonwealth Drought Task Force. Other counties that cleared of the drought watch status were Montgomery, Northampton, Dauphin, Huntingdon, Lebanon, and Perry Counties.

Six counties remain on the list, including Adams, Cameron, Cumberland, Fulton, Westmoreland, and York Counties.

Residents in counties still affected by the drought warning are instructed to reduce their water usage by up to 15 percent.

To practice water conservation, households are encouraged to run their dishwasher and washing machines less often, check for leaks, take shorter showers, install low-flow fixtures on faucets, and replace older appliances.
