The Bucks County Board of Commissioners celebrated a new beginning on Tuesday, marking the start of their second term with optimism and a renewed commitment to the community, writes Jeff Werner for the Patch.

Chair Diane Ellis-Marseglia emphasized the importance of sustaining and improving mental health and substance abuse treatments.

She also stressed the significance of solidifying the co-responder program. Her agenda extends to environmental stewardship and making housing more accessible for middle- and working-class residents.

Commissioner Harvie supported these goals, highlighting the need for government action. Commissioner DiGirolamo called for bipartisanship and respectful collaboration to address the pressing issues facing the community.

“We’re not always all going to agree,” he said. “But when we don’t agree we can do it respectfully and look for compromise, and look for solutions to the problem.”
