Philadelphia, with its multitude of casual, neighborhood bars and pubs, is a place with lots of burgers, writes Jason Sheehan and Maddy Sweitzer-Lamme for Philadelphia Magazine.

Johnny Brenda’s in Fishtown is another good option for a delicious burger.

In East Passyunk, there’s Royal Tavern, with its legendary burger topped with smoked gouda, chili mayo, caramelized onions, a pickled long hot and bacon.

Center City has numerous options, from Village Whiskey to Darling Jack’s Tavern, a.kitchen, Dandelion, Good Dog Bar, and Butcher Bar, among others.

At Southwark in Queen Village, there’s the popular burger topped with salty Birchrun Hills blue cheese, bacon, charred onions, and aioli. In Society Hill, there’s Hawthorne’s, with its classic burger stacked with smash patties, sharp cheddar, and smoky remoulade on a brioche roll.
