The New Year will bring a new look and feel to PJW Restaurant Group’s Pour House Chain in an effort to differentiate it from its P.J. Whelihan’s concept, writes Emma Dooling for Philadelphia Business Journal.

The two brands have always shared a similar casual atmosphere and menu, but starting February 1, the three Pour House locations in Westmont, Exton, and North Wales will have a refined food and beverage menu.

CEO Jim Fris said the Pour House will have a revamped menu with new dishes as well as fresh wine and beer glasses and other tableware.

The company has been testing a new smash burger to offer Pour House diners.

“We want to re-differentiate P.J.’s and Pour House, and we’re excited about a lot of the pieces of the puzzle coming together,” Fris said.

While the new look doesn’t include renovations to the physical spaces, the aim is to offer a nicer concept at Pour House than the sports bar feel of P.J. Whelihan’s.

“You can graduate from P.J.’s to Pour House if you want to,” Fris said.

PJW Restaurant Group is also growing its P.J. Whelihan’s brand. Already slated for 2024 are a restaurant in the Wynnewood Shopping Center on the Main Line and two undisclosed locations in Delaware County and South Jersey.
