Peddler’s Village, a quaint shopping village in Lahaska, is a holiday destination, writes Sarah Scholl for ABC 27.

The village, which is decked out in a sea of rainbow lights, has hosted an abundance of festive events for over 60 years.

From shopping to restaurants and lodging, families can spend an entire weekend at this Bucks County spot.  The grand illumination ceremony kicks off the holiday season in mid-November, with help from Santa, who flips the switch for over a million-holiday lights.

Other festivals and events include brunches with Santa, story time with Grinch, and the Holly Jolly Weekend, which debuts this weekend.  It features joyous parades and festivities throughout the weekend.

The Gingerbread Display is a beloved tradition that features over 100 gingerbread creations from residents and professional bakers.

The village selects winners and allows the public to come in and vote on their favorite as well. The display attracted over 100,000 visitors last year.

But despite the holiday season, Peddler’s Village is a year-round shopping attraction.

The village has 16 shops and boutiques, the majority of which are locally owned and operated.
