PECO Customers Can Get Help with Utility Bills When They Act Now
PECO customers can now apply for grants to help pay their utility bills through the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). The company is committed to working with customers in need of assistance, with support ranging from offering payment arrangements to connecting customers with energy assistance resources.
Last year, LIHEAP helped nearly 60,000 PECO customers secure more than $45 million in financial assistance. LIHEAP is a federally funded program that helps low-income households with their energy bills. However, customers must not delay in applying as this is a first-come, first-served program and is only available until money runs out.
“When temperatures drop this winter, customers could see an increase in their home heating bills,” said Patricia King, manager of Community Engagement for PECO. “We understand the impact this can have on our low-income customers, so we are urging them to take advantage of programs like LIHEAP now.”
Customers can apply for a LIHEAP grant of up to $1,000 or call 800-34-HELP-4.
