Nurses at Bristol’s Lower Bucks Hospital and Norristown’s Suburban Community Hospital are ringing in the holiday season with a potential strike, writes Abraham Gutman for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

The contract affecting nearly 200 nurses expired this October, and negotiations since then have centered around better healthcare benefits and increased staffing.

Dec. 22 is the deadline for the agreement. If no negotiations don’t lead to that, nurses will head to the picket line.

According to the Pennsylvania Association of Staff Nurses and Allied Professionals, more than 95 percent of the nurses at the two hospitals voted in favor of a strike.
