Fascinating History of Doylestown Hospital Shared in New Adult Coloring Book
The Village Improvement Association of Doylestown has published an adult coloring book that shares the fascinating history of the Doylestown Hospital founding in 1923, writes Jeff Werner for the Patch.
In addition to being entertaining, the book is raising funds for Bucks County residents in need.
The VIA is the only philanthropic women’s association in the nation that has created and is still governing an award-winning hospital.
The organization has been sharing the story of Doylestown Hospital throughout the year for its centennial. In July, the VIA joined forces with Phillips Mill Theater for an original play: ‘VOICES: A History of the VIA’ of Doylestown.
The sold-out play was scripted by VIA member Joy Nash.
The activities continued with an exhibition titled ‘The Dusty Road to Doylestown Hospital: The Early Years of the Village Improvement Association’ which opened on September 29 at Mercer Museum. It will run through December 31.
The coloring book was created by William Schutt, a highly talented Doylestown resident married to an active VIA member. While aimed at adults, the publication is also suitable for slightly older children.
