Central Bucks County Receives Over $2.3 Million for Water and Sewer Upgrades

The state has awarded more than $2.3 million in grants to six water and sewer upgrades in Central Bucks County.

The state has awarded more than $2.3 million in grants to six water and sewer upgrades in Central Bucks County, writes Jeff Werner for the Patch.

The grants were announced by State Senator Steve Santarsiero and State Representatives Tim Brennan and Shelby Labs earlier this week.

“These projects will help make critical improvements to our municipal water and sewer systems, strengthening our infrastructure, protecting our environment, and maintaining quality drinking water for our community,” said Santarsiero.

The awards include $424,864 to Doylestown Borough to rehabilitate its Maplewood Tank and $423,804 to Chalfont Borough to replace stormwater piping in the borough.

The North Wales Water Authority will get $337,954 to replace and upgrade a Hydro-Pneumatic storage tank and arsenic removal system in Solebury Township as well as $313,559 to replace and upgrade a potable water Hydro-Pneumatic storage tank and add an arsenic removal system in Solebury Township.

Additionally, Doylestown Township Municipal Authority will get $268,405 for the Forest Park Regional Water System Interconnection and a $418,198 grant will go to Plumstead Township for a water interconnection between its two distribution systems.
