Langhorne’s Tara Tamburello Named Bucks County Poet Laureate

Langhorne resident Tara Tamburello, a marketing professional and published poet, has been named the 2023 Bucks County Poet Laureate.

Langhorne resident Tara Tamburello, a marketing professional and published poet, has been named the 2023 Bucks County Poet Laureate, according to a staff report from Levittown Now.

The annual contest is sponsored by the Bucks County Commissioners and administered by Bucks County Community College. Tamburello was selected from 60 entries in its 47th iteration.

Tamburello’s work has been published in various journals, such as Ghost City Review and Bone Parade, as well as in anthologies by Vestal Review and Sans. PRESS. Tamburello, who was raised along the Neshaminy Creek, is a former Bucks County Short Fiction Contest winner and 2021 poet laureate contest runner-up.

Outside of writing poetry, Tamburello is part of the Law School Admission Council’s marketing team. She lives in Langhorne with her husband, two children, and a cat. Her other interests include video gaming, music, and painting, as well as gardening and hiking.

The poet was praised for the strength of her entries by the judges, Philadelphia poet Courtney Bambrick and Brooklyn poet Joanna Fuhrman.

Tamburello read her poetry at Bucks County Community College’s Newtown Township campus on Sunday.
