Longtime Bucks County resident Leroy Bostic Jr., an organizational expert and diversity and inclusion advocate, died on August 17 aged 78, writes Michelle Myers for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Bostic, who was born in Trenton, New Jersey, was adopted by a Philadelphia couple in the 1940s. His parents were pioneers in education who often helped Black students pay college tuition.

They enrolled their son in the Miquon School and later at Friends’ Central, where he was among the first Black students to attend.

He majored in psychology at Central State University in 1967 and a year later, he joined Scott Paper as part of the human resources department.

From there he worked his way up in organization development across multiple companies, until he landed an executive-level role at Pfizer Pharmaceuticals.

Throughout his career, he made sure to mentor young professionals and help them find better career opportunities.

“He approached young people with respect, didn’t treat them like they didn’t know anything,” said his ex-wife, Anna Pogue Bostic.

In 1998, he created REB Consulting to provide diversity training and inclusion strategies for major companies such as Pfizer, Aramark, Quest Diagnostics, Aegon, and NASA.
