Doylestown’s Mann-Hughes Architecture Leaves No Stone Unturned in Elegant Bethlehem Church Exterior
The recently completed Grace Church Bethlehem in Bethlehem township boasts a lovely exterior thanks to Doylestown-based Mann-Hughes Architecture, according to Quality Stone Veneer.
The exterior was installed in a custom-color Cobblestone Lambris style, giving it a natural and timeless elegance.
The style was chosen for its larger stone face dimensions that fit perfectly to the theme of historical churches that have been built from rectangular rounded natural cobblestone for centuries. The style also made it possible to install a drainage plane that provides added protection against water intrusion.
When choosing the color for the stone, it was important to stay in the natural spectrum. The architect was interested in the granite color but wanted more of the deep gray tones underneath instead of the light gray base tone.
Quality Stone Veneer designed a new color based on its granite recipe. The company brought out the deeper grays in by using a darker mud color. This custom color has been named “Stratus”.
To ensure historical detail, the company added Steel colored precast throughout the exterior, such as Siota Accent Bands, Hewn Edge Wall Caps, and Sandstone Sills.
