Delaware Valley University has partnered with Bucks County Department of Workforce and Economic Development (WED) to offer the Aim & Attain Near Completer Grant program that provides a pathway for individuals who had to pause their college or career training programs.

The grant will pay for tuition and other expenses for qualified individuals who re-enroll and complete their certificate or degree by June 30, 2024.

The grant was made possible with a $1,333,268 award from the PA Department of Labor & Industry (L&I). Eligible individuals who had to pause their college or career training certificate programs can apply to complete their education or training at DelVal at no cost by visiting the link here.

DelVal and the Bucks County Aim & Attain Near Completer Grant supports Pennsylvania residents who began a postsecondary educational or training program, maintained a 2.0 GPA or higher, and exited after June 1, 2021 before obtaining an associate degree, bachelor’s degree or certificate.

To be eligible, participants must complete their study programs by June 30, 2024. For individuals who qualify, the grant will cover all of their tuition and fees, and some additional expenses, such as child care, may also be covered.

“This unique program not only provides students who had to leave college before completing their certificate or degree an opportunity to receive full tuition and other support to complete their program of study and improve their career prospects, it also allows our institution to have a meaningful impact and contribution on workforce development needs across the county and beyond,” shared Dr. Gloria Oikelome, provost and vice president for Academic Affairs at DelVal.

The program is open to unemployed as well as currently employed individuals who require training to advance in their current field or transition to a different field. In addition to tuition, additional benefits may include, mentorship, technology resources, free books and educational supplies, access to career support services and resources to job placement programs through DelVal’s Center for Student Professional Development (CSPD) office.
