Pennsylvania American Water will host an enrollment event in support of the company’s customer assistance program (CAP) on Saturday, Oct. 7, from 12 PM to 2 PM at the Salvation Army at 669 East Lincoln Highway in Coatesville.

“Our customers are at the center of everything we do, and we want them to know about and engage in the robust bill assistance programs we offer,” said Pennsylvania American Water President Justin Ladner.

Pennsylvania American Water team members will be on hand to discuss and enroll qualified customers into the program, which offers three primary services:

  • Grants of up to $500 per household per year
  • A 40 percent to 80 percent discount on the monthly service fee and a 25 percent to 80 percent discount on the monthly volumetric charges, saving the average residential customer 3,212 gallons/month, $19.93 to $55.39 every month
  • Water-saving devices and education

PECO and Xfinity, as well as State Representative Dan Williams, will join Pennsylvania American Water to discuss their customer assistance programs and support. Refreshments will be available.

In 2022, the company provided approximately $7.4 million in monthly bill discounts and 1,792 conservation kits to customers across the Commonwealth. This year marks the 32nd anniversary of Pennsylvania American Water’s customer assistance program, the first of its kind to be launched voluntarily by a water utility in the United States in 1991.

Families across the Commonwealth have received more than 20,000 hardship fund grants toward their Pennsylvania American Water bill since the program’s inception. Customers can learn more about the program, including eligibility criteria, by visiting Pennsylvania American Water. Select Customer Assistance Programs under the Customer Service & Billing tab.
