Bucks County startup MentoMind, which wants to use AI to change how students prep for SAT exams, has managed to raise $1.5 million in seed funding, writes Ryan Mulligan for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The company has already had a successful pilot in India and is now looking to gain traction in the United States.

MentoMind launched in 2020. It secured a partnership with a large Indian college prep school the following year. The web app developed by the company provides students with a mock test with results, helps them set their own goals using personalized daily study plans, and has a chatbot based on AI that helps them stay on track.

The company has a free version of its app in the U.S., but it is getting ready to launch the full paid version in the next few weeks with the new influx of cash.

“The use of AI can really personalize the delivery of education to each student and basically optimize teacher time,” said Amit Jain, founder and CEO of MentoMind.
