Bridgeton House in Upper Black Eddy is a Luxurious Getaway With Splendid Riverfront Views
Bridgeton House in Upper Black Eddy is an oasis of serenity that offers visitors a chance to enjoy a luxurious getaway with stunning views of Bucks County, writes Marilyn Odesser-Torpey for Main Line Today.
The inn was originally built in 1836 as a private residence. Over the following decades it served as a pool hall, general store, bakery, real estate office, and apartments, but through it all, it maintained its historic architectural details.
Bea and Charles Briggs bought the building in 1981 and spent a year renovating it to create the now iconic and truly unique Bridgeton House.
Visitors who choose the Escape the Ordinary package will receive a basket of fresh-baked breakfast goodies at their door each morning, as well as some homemade treats.
Premium rooms and luxury suites at this Bucks County inn boast large riverside porches and fireplaces.
And as a bonus, there is fine dining to be had in Canal House Station which can be found just across the bridge in Milford, New Jersey.
There restaurant is a two-time James Beard semi-finalist and three-time OpenTable Diners’ Choice winner.
