Yardley’s Jackie Rogowicz Ties for Lead at Women’s Mid-Am As Play Suspended Due to Darkness
Yardley native Jackie Rogowicz remained in a good position to earn co-medalist honors at the Women’s Mid-Am on Sunday as darkness forced officials to suspend play, writes Julia Pine for USGA.
Rogowicz, who is a former Penn State golfer and currently works as an investment analyst, is currently playing in her second Mid-Am. Last year, in her championship debut, she made it to Round 16.
This year, the championship is taking place at Stonewall, close to the 26-year-old’s hometown, and she made the most of her home game.
Rogowicz is one of 11 players from the Keystone State in the 132-player field and will most likely proceed into the match play portion of the championship as a co-medalist, having tied with Round 1 leaders Courtney Dow and Jessica Spicer before the play got suspended. She put together rounds of 71-68 on the North Course and finished at 3-under par.
“I had some family and friends out following yesterday,” said Rogowicz. “I have my family here, my sister was around, so it’s nice being local.”
