Visitors to Elmwood Park Zoo in Norristown can scale new heights at the Treetop Adventures at Elmwood Park Zoo in Norristown, writes Nick Iadonisi and Todd Haas for 6ABC.

The adventure experience includes obstacles and a ropes and zip line course that goes through trees, over animals and ends with a 30-foot simulated free fall.

Treetop Adventures at the zoo first opened in 2014 and many zoo visitors find the challenging courses helps them overcome a fear of heights, manager Ben Brugger said.

“It feels like you’re not attached to anything, you’re just floating through air, and that’s what it’s supposed to feel like,” he explained.

All Treetop Adventures customers must go through a briefing course first to learn how to use the equipment.
