‘Oktoberfest’ Festivities Coming to Warminster This Weekend. Read to Learn More

The historic Pearl S. Buck estate will have a wide variety of food, drink, and German goods for all in attendance.

A popular celebration will be held in Warminster this weekend, giving locals and vistors the chance to enjoy classic festivities.

Vereinigung Erzgebirge, a GermanAmerican social and sports club located at 130 Davisville Road in Warminster, will be hsoting its 86th annual Oktoberfest on Sept. 9 at 11 AM.

Along with soccer games, a keg tapping ceremony, and a wide variety of German foods and beer for the adults, children in attendance can enjoy a moon bouncec, clowns, face painting, kick ball, arts and crafts, and a Thriller Obstacle Course.

Vereinigung Erzgebirge, whose name translates to “Ore Mountains Association” from the original German, was founded by immigrants from the Erzgebirge region of Germany in 1931. Offering a wide array of sports programs, as well as community events, this series of shows is meant to bring the community together and celebrate their work in a festive manner.

“Our 68 acre grounds are home to our beautiful clubhouse, Ratskeller bar, outdoor patio, canteen, picnic grove, Olympic-sized swimming pool, soccer fields, summer camps, and other amenities for our members and their guests,” the club’s website reads.

“There is something for everyone at the VE.”
