One of Bucks County’s most popular historical buildings will be teaching visitors about its haunted past, present, and future.

The Pearl S. Buck House, located at 520 Dublin Road in Perkasie, will be hosting two Halloween Ghost Tours in late October. The first one will be held on Oct. 27 and the second on Oct. 29, both being held from 6 – 7 PM, according to the website of Pearl S. Buck International.

On the tour, attendees will learn about the building’s past and its potential connection to hauntings, including experiences the estate’s namesake author underwent. With her deep connection to China, the tour will also go over supernatural folklore from that region.

Staff from the nonprofit will also share their own stories of hauntings.

Known for her 1931 novel, The Good Earth, which documented life in rural China, Buck was known for her advocacy of the adoption of Chinese-born children, making her one of the first Americans to advocate mixed-race adoption.

Her novels brought a level of awareness of Chinese culture to an American audience; throughout her life, Buck lived in the country herself, residing in Zhenjiang and Nanjing under the name 赛珍珠 (Sai Zhenzhu).
