The developers of vacant properties at 21-23/37 North York Road hope to build retail and apartments in the space, but first they need approval from the Hatboro Borough Council, writes Dino Ciliberti for Patch.

Under the borough’s new Town Center Ordinance, buildings along a stretch of York Road, between Byberry Road and Montgomery Avenue, can be taller than the current 35 feet allowed if the developers meet certain guidelines.

The developers have submitted plans to the borough which will be discussed at the Hatboro Planning Commission meeting on September 12.

This is the second developer to submit a proposal for a taller building in the downtown district. Last month, 24-28 South York Road Associates, LP, submitted plans for a four-story building with 36 apartments and retail space on the first floor to built on the former CVS property on South York Road.

They are still waiting on final approval from the borough. All plans need to be approved by the Hatboro Borough Council.
