As they both often commute to New York City for work, they appreciate being able to come home to their estate in Bucks County.

When Keith Gonzales and Lee Kline decided it was time to downsize into a new home surrounded by nature, 15 acres at the top of a hill in Durham Township turned out to be the perfect place where they could fulfill their dream, writes Terri Akman for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

They acquired the parcel in 2021 and hired Rotelle Studio(e) Custom Builders to help them build the house of their dreams. They did not expect that the process would be as complicated as it was.

“Building on a hill changes everything,” said Kline. “There are different permits, different people involved, different everything.”

However despite all the complications, they persevered.

“We’re surrounded by farms and rural scenery,” said Gonzales. “We really wanted to take advantage of the fantastic views and peace and tranquility.”

They opted for a modern home design with clean lines and plenty of contemporary finishes. And while the entire process lasted for a year and a half, the husbands are thrilled with the result.

As they both often commute to New York City for work, they appreciate being able to come home to their calm retreat.
