The college and the astronomical society will be helping residents to watch the stars.

Bucks County Community College’s Hicks Art Center Gallery will be collaborating with Bucks-Mont Astronomy Association to present a free and open-to-the-public Star Watch event on Aug. 22 from 6 – 10 PM at the college’s Newtown Campus.

In conjunction with the current Hicks Art Center Gallery exhibition, Astronomical: Gazing Inward & Beyond, Exhibitions Associate Clifford Eberly will lead a walk-through tour in the gallery at 6 PM with participating artists Katelyn B. Knight, Christine McHugh, Andrea Wallace, and faculty Caren Friedman.

Following the tour, attendees are invited to purchase delicious, authentic Thai food and beverages from the Thai Cha Chak Food Truck outside of the Hicks Art Center.

At dusk, BMAA club members will have telescopes available to look through and will be on hand to answer questions. Guests are encouraged to bring binoculars or their own telescopes if they have them. For comfortable seating, attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs in addition to their curiosity and taste buds.

BMAA and BCCC ask that you leave your pets at home for the safety and comfort of other participants and to prevent potential damage to delicate equipment.
