A popular mansion in Bucks County will be offering tours of the premises this fall, sharing the stories of the ghosts that reside within it.

Summerseat, located at 149 Harper Avenue in Morrisville, will be hosting two ghost tours during the Halloween season. The tours will be held on Oct. 14 and 21 at 6 PM.

“Summerseat only opens its doors for this once per year,” the estate said online. “Don’t miss it! Call ahead for large groups to reserve or meet us on the evening of the Ghost Tour events.”

The estate was originally built in 1770. The home was owned by two signers of the Declaration of Independence. Founding Fathers George Clymer and Robert Morris, the area’s namesake, called Summerseat their home at various times.

It also served as a headquarters of George Washington during the Revolutionary War and was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1965.

Much like the nearby Pennsbury Manor, this estate is another example of how the Bucks County area has had such a major role in the founding and building of America.
