Alvarado started making beaded necklaces during the time he was on the injured list due to a left elbow inflammation.

April Bremme traded her beaded necklace with Philadelphia Phillies player José Alvarado during the team’s 12-1 win Saturday night at Citizens Bank Park over the St. Louis Cardinals, writes Tom Dougherty for CBS News Philadelphia.

Bremme came to the game prepared. She brought a sign that read “Alvarado, your beads look good on you but mine will look better! Let’s trade!?”

The sign managed to get the reliever’s attention. He waved her closer and tossed up one of his necklaces to her. Bremme then threw down her own necklace and completed the trade.

Alvarado started making beaded necklaces during the time he was on the injured list due to a left elbow inflammation. Since he returned, his handiworks have been seen throughout the dugout, worn both by himself and his teammates.

One of his necklaces was easily noticeable during a recent appearance Alvarado made against the San Francisco Giants.

So far this season, Alvarado has a 1.24 ERA in 29 games. He struck out 45 batters and walked just 11.
