Four Things to Consider for Your Remote Job Search

Career Corner BCCC

Everyone wants a remote job, but there’s a lot to consider before you apply for a work-from-home position. Here are some things to keep in mind when for a remote job search, according to Fortune Magazine.

Identify Your Preferences

Even if your job is remote, you’re still going to be collaborating with others. Ask yourself if you enjoy working in a team or by yourself. Consider if you want a hybrid option. Having an understanding of what you want will help you find the perfect position for you.

Identify Your Skills

Are they transferable? Do you have skills that would make you a strong candidate for a remote position? Make sure to highlight them on your resume.

Use Job Boards

There are plenty of job search platforms to help you find the perfect remote job. Flexjobs, LinkedIn, and Fiverr are all good examples of remote platforms.

Curate Your Application Materials

Make sure your resume and cover letter feature skills and qualifications that fit the job description of the position you are applying for. Make sure you include examples of past projects.
