The new restaurant would be centrally located in Newtown.

A popular restaurant chain is planning on opening a new location in Bucks County, which would take over a longtime-vacant building. Jeff Werner wrote about the proposed restaurant for the Doylestown Patch.

The Capital Grille is proposing to open an upscale, 8,000-square-foot fine dining restaurant and steakhouse at the Village at Newtown shopping center. If the proposal is approved, the new eatery would be the first Capital Grille in Bucks County, as well as the fourth in Pennsylvania.

The proposed restaurant would have a reception area that would open to a main dining room and three private dining rooms, along with a horseshoe bar surrounded by tables. There would also be 24 seats on the outside patio.

The Capital Grille is currently seeking conditional use approval as well as the approval of a liquor license transfer from a Warrington business.

The key sticking points during the upcoming conditional use hearing are expected to be the liquor license transfer and parking concerns.

The food is made from “exceptional ingredients, artfully prepared,” according to the restaurant’s website.

Meanwhile, the wine list boasts a selection of more than 350 wines.
