A national nonprofit recently had representatives in Bucks County meet with local leaders to discuss the organic food industry.

The Organic Trade Association, headquartered in Washington D.C., recently met with local representatives to discuss their impact on the industry. Namely, the representatives met with Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick, who is originally from the area.

“The Organic Trade Association is North America’s main business association for organic agriculture and products, representing more than 10,000 organic farms and businesses in the U.S.,” Fitzpatrick said online. “Thank you to their Bucks County members for visiting us and keeping us informed on the latest research and changes in the organic industry!”

The organization represents over 9,500 organic businesses across all 50 states, with a Board of Directors democratically-elected by its members.

“We serve as the unifying voice of the U.S. organic industry on Capitol Hill, and we advance our mission to promote and protect organic agriculture and trade through legislative and regulatory advocacy,” the organization said online.
