The New York Times compares this Chestnut Hill house with four bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms at 151 West Springfield Avenue with two other houses, one in California and a second in Virginia, also selling for $1.4 million.

If your budget is $1.4 million, in Philadelphia, you can get an 1856 house in Chestnut Hill with four bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms, writes Angela Serratore for The New York Times.

The house, set on a lovely 0.2-acre lot, is close to Pastorius Park, which holds a summer concert series, and Wissahickon Valley Park that is popular with hikers and equestrians.

The property is separated from the street by a stone wall. A path behind the wrought-iron gate leads to the main entrance.

The foyer boasts a staircase to the second level and hardwood floors. A living room features a fireplace and beamed ceiling and leads into an elegant dining room.

Next is an updated kitchen with quartz counters, abundant cabinet space, and the breakfast area with built-in window seat.

Meanwhile, the second floor is home to all four bedrooms, including the primary bedroom with windows that overlook surrounding trees and an en-suite bathroom.

Outside, there is a partially covered flagstone with more than enough space for dining. There is also a swimming pool along with a pool house.
