A nonprofit in Bucks County recently donated a large sum of funds to several organizations in and around the area.

The Makefield Women’s Association, headquarter in Yardley, recently hosted its annual giving ceremony, in which they donated $19,500 to local nonprofits.

“Each year through a nominating and voting process, members select a group of local nonprofits as Annual Beneficiaries,” there organization said online. “With these organizations in mind, MWA hosts fundraising events and collects donations for the year.”

This year’s recipients include A Woman’s Place, Bucks for Kids, Family Services Bucks County Homeless Shelter, and the Penndel Community Food Pantry.

“Having a chance to hear about the good work happening in our community through our beneficiaries truly makes me thankful to live in an area with so many people willing to come together for the greater good,” says Tiffany Wichert, a 10-year MWA member.
