Local mailboxes are being targeted.

Several towns and boroughs in Bucks County have become the most recent targets of theft, but there are precautions locals can take. Christopher Dornblaser wrote about the thefts for the Bucks County Courier Times.

Over the last few weeks, mailboxes in the areas of Solebury, Doylestown Township, Northampton, Lower Makefield and Warwick have seen their contents stolen.

Solebury Detective Cpl. Jonathan Koretzky warned residents of the county of thieves driving through local neighborhoods and stealing from residential mailboxes and front doors. If you have been the victim of a theft, contacting the authorities is the best thing you can do to have a chance of it being found.

“If your check has been stolen you should report that immediately to your bank as well,” he said.

Local authorities are continuing to investigate the recent string of thefts. For now, officials are warning people to be wary of suspicious activity in their communities.
