RKL LLP, an advisory firm with an office in Exton, recently released a new report highlighting merger and acquisition (M&A) activity throughout central and southeastern Pennsylvania. The report shows that regional and national M&A activity receded in 2022 following a post-pandemic-driven surge in 2021.

Though 2022 saw a decrease in activity, the number of transactions was still up seven percent compared to 2019’s pre-pandemic level.

The suburban Philadelphia region accounted for a total of 349 transactions in 2022, with the healthcare industry seeing the highest level of activity. Sponsor-backed and publicly traded companies accounted for 63 percent of the acquisitions.
