Bucks County Treasurer Kris Ballerini Announces Run for Reelection
A Bucks County politician, who has served in a variety of roles, has announced her intentions to run for reelection this year. Jeff Werner wrote about her upcoming political run for the Doylestown Patch.
Bucks County Treasurer Kris Ballerini, a former Upper Makefield Township Supervisor, was first elected three years ago with Commissioners Bob Harvie Jr. and Diane Ellis Marseglia. She brought 13 years of banking experience to the position of treasurer.
“I have managed my office with a philosophy of doing more efficiently with less cost to the bottom line,” she said. “I have been successful my entire term thus far to remain under budget in my department operations.”
One of her major goals was seeking out a competitive pricing comparison for Bucks County’s banking services, something that had not been done previously.
“I’m a firm believer in best business practices being adhered to,” she said. “The banking relationship is a pretty critical piece of business that should have been examined by prior administrations.”
Her office has now “drafted a comprehensive request for proposals,” she said, and will soon announce “who we will partner with.”
Additionally, she returned $100,000 in unclaimed funds to the county and is on target to bring in interest earnings of $1.7 million, which will go into the general fund.
