The local artist will have her work in a Philadelphia exhibit until Feb. 19.

A Bucks County artist used her time in the caregiving and healthcare scenes to influence her art, which is now on display in Philadelphia. Naveed Ahsan wrote about the local artist for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Ginny Ferrante Perry was sent to Doylestown Hospital eight years ago to address a serious medical emergency. While staying there and recovering, Perry, a local artist, connected with the caregivers at the hospital.

“This chaplain listened to me, and she was very compassionate,” Perry said. “And when she left, I said to myself, ‘I want to do something like that. What a beautiful thing to do.”

She then started volunteering at Pine Run, a nursing home in Doylestown, a few years later. From her experiences, she was influenced by those she met along the way. Now, that artwork she made because of it is on display in Philadelphia.
