Give it a second set of eyes

To include or not include a summary? Harvard career adviser Gorick Ng says to ask a few of your friends to read your CV. If they say they would consider you a good fit based on first impressions of your resume alone, you probably don’t need a summary.

Divide into three sections

Ng also says that your education should take up 20 percent of the page and go to the very top. Your professional experience follows that, taking up about 70 percent of the page. Finally, skills, languages, and interests take up 10 percent of the page at the bottom.
