What if Santa himself wrote about the time that he visited Bucks County almost 100 years ago? Well, an old article claims to have his account. Staff writers at the Doylestown Historical Society dug up the old transcript.

The Doylestown Historical Society recently published an article that appeared in the Daily Intelligencer in December of 1923. The author: Santa Claus.

As he has been visiting the area as long as there has been a Bucks County, Santa decided to stop at the offices of the newspaper 99 years ago to discuss his experience “meeting the 500 or more Doylestown kiddies Thursday afternoon in the Strand Theatre,” where he entertained a young audience and gave them the Christmas experience of a lifetime.

“There was such a fine bunch of my boys and girls at the show that my large pack of candy gave out before all the kiddies had been served,” Santa said in the old article.

Despite his candy shortage, he made sure that all the children in attendance got the food, gifts, and time with him that they wanted. While a lot has changed in Doylestown since his recorded visit, Santa has kept up with the times and is looking forward to making the round around Bucks County again.
