A Bucks County company is bringing their luxury products to customers across the country, offering an icy creation for a fun time. Lisa Dukart wrote about the company for The Business Journals.

Langhorne-based Lux Ice, a craft ice startup, is undergoing a rapid expansion and is expecting to grow by a factor of 40 next year. The company plans to open a new Dallas facility in the first quarter of 2023 as well as additional locations in 2024.

Lux Ice founder and CEO Shawn Kilcoyne hopes these coming moves will make the brand “ubiquitous with craft cocktail ice around the world.”

Kilcoyne was prompted to start Lux Ice in 2020 after he realized that the nondescript ice coolers he saw at convenience stores offered the chance to create a brand. He also noticed while out and about that bartenders hand carved ice for drinks, a process he found inefficient.

He launched the company in 2020 and his products soon landed at Wegmans and he has been rapidly expanding ever since. Originally focusing on the food services industries, he then shifted focus to consumers at the start of the pandemic.

By the start of next year, Kilcoyne expects his products to be available at around 10,000 locations across the country, including grocery stores along with independent and chain liquor retailers.
