A Bucks County Catholic high school has a scholarship fund that is raising money in one of the most unique ways imaginable.

Archbishop Wood Catholic High School has recently implemented the Gerri Garofalo Scholarship for seniors students.

“Gerri Garofalo graduated from Archbishop Wood High School in 1968 as an accomplished student and athlete,” the school said online. “She was a dedicated teacher at her alma mater inspiring her students to not only do well academically, but to achieve their fullest potential to succeed in life.”

Having raised over $30,000 in the past four years, one of the ways the scholarship makes money for student is by selling a unique gift” hand-made Santa figures created from recycled uniforms from the school. An art project started by Garofalo’s sisters, Gabbie and Gail, each one is sold foe $30, with all proceeds going to the fund.

“The Santas are not only priceless keepsakes, but they are hand cut and sewn, making each of them one-of-a-kind.”
