The Bucks County veteran was given the gift of mobility with the recent installation of the ramp.

A veteran in the Bucks County area recently had a wheelchair acessibility ramp added to his house, making his life a little easier. Staff reporters at Fox 29 Philadelphia told his story.

Charles “Chip” Huffman is a Navy veteran who has been struggling to walk for” a number of years due to nerve damage. This has made everyday tasks, such as moving around his home, quite difficult. A recent fall, which broke his ankle, has further compounded his mobility issues.

Recently, Huffman was able to get his wheelchair ramp through the Twilight Wish Foundation, an organization based out of Jamison that works with veterans. The ramp was installed in the front of his Featerville-Trevose home, making getting in and out of the house an easy endeavor.

“Just being in the home, knowing him and his family, it became evident that he needed a means to get out of the house in the case of an emergency,” said Lauren Dillon, Huffman’s longtime physical therapist.
