Devon Prep has honored Lee Wybranski, the proprietor of Lee Wybranski Art & Design (LWAD) and one of the premier artists in the golf world, with its 2022 Alumni Achievement Award.

Wybranski, a member of Devon Prep’s Class of 1987, has been a professional artist since 1992. He formed his company in Philadelphia in 1995 as a fine art and graphic design studio and the exclusive publisher and agent for his work.

LWAD — which is also a design house, specializing in logo development, branding, and design for golf clubs and tournaments — is now based out of Flagstaff, Ariz.

Since establishing his studio, Wybranski has completed numerous commissioned artworks and published editions related to the game of golf, including landscapes, portraits, and event posters. His portfolio includes artwork for clients ranging from St. Andrews Links Trust to Polo Ralph Lauren and Seminole Golf Club.

Wybranski is perhaps best known for the posters he produces each year for golf’s Major Championships. He enjoyed a banner year in 2018, creating artwork for the U.S. Open, The Open, the PGA Championship, and the Ryder Cup in Paris. His posters have become highly collectable, and his originals are owned by many prominent clubs and PGA Tour players, including Jordan Speith, Dustin Johnson, Justin Rose, Rory McIlroy, and Graeme McDowell.

In 2018, Wybranski also created artwork for the NBA All-Star Game, The Spring and Fall Meets at Keeneland (horse racing), and the Miami Open (tennis).

Wybranski is just one of many Devon Prep graduates who have gone on to distinguish themselves in their chosen fields. The Catholic school for boys in grades six through twelve enrolls students from six different counties — Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, Philadelphia, Berks, and Lehigh — and 47 ZIP Codes.

More than 97 percent of the students who enroll at Devon Prep graduate from the school. Its high retention rate can be credited to the holistic education its students receive, as well as the wide range of activities and events they can participate in.
