The Closest Race of the Bucks County Elections Has Come to an End, With One Candidate Conceding

The tight race ended after the final votes were counted.

In one of the closest races in recent Bucks County history, one candidate has conceded, leaving the other to fullfill his new position. Emily Rizzo wrote about the close race for WHYY.

Democrat Mark Moffa has conceded the long drawn out race to Republican Joe Hogan, both of whom are running for portions in the142nd state House district. Just last week, the election results saw the two separate by only two votes; Moffa had 15,095 votes, while Hogan was just two votes behind at 15,093.

After bucks County officials discovered they had not counted votes from one of their precincts, Hogan ended up having 53-vote lead over Moffa.

““Democracy is better when voters have a choice between determined and highly qualified candidates,” Hogan said. “The results of this election have made it clear that the voters of the 142nd were faced with such a choice.”

Hogan will now a representative for the areas of Lower Southampton, parts of Middletown and Northampton townships, and Langhorne, Langhorne Manor, and Penndel boroughs.
