The local sports fan discusses the best of the best of Philly basketball.

A Bucks County sports fan is taking this love of basketball to the podcasting realm to share his knowledge of one of Philly’s greatest teams. Dave Uram wrote about the local sports fan for KYW Newsradio.

Bucks County’s Uriah Young fell in love with the 76ers in 1983, when the team became champions of the world. He has remained one of the team’s biggest fans ever since and is sharing his knowledge of the Sixers through multiple platforms as both a writer and podcast producer.

Young joined the Philly Sports Network recently as a contributing writer. He is also a producer for The Sixers Sense podcast, where he occasionally fills in as host.

“I love the community,” said Young of the podcast. “It just gave me a platform. It gave me a chance to connect with other fans that are as passionate about the Sixers as me.”

Despite the team never repeating its 1980s success, Young’s devotion to the Sixers has never wavered.

“The reason why I love the Sixers is because I love the city of Philadelphia,” said Young. “I appreciate the historic aspect of what it means to our country… Philadelphia is in my blood.”

As far as the future is concerned, he believes the 76ers can get back on top of the world.
