Bucks County Nonprofit Works With South African Preschools To Better Students’ Lives and Education
A Bucks County nonprofit is working to ensure that children in South African have access to better education and living conditions.
Adopt a South African Preschool (ASAP), founded by local resident Nancy Schongalla-Bowman and based in Yardley, is working to bring awareness to the poor conditions of preschools in the namesake African country.
“After visiting South Africa and seeing a need for education, Nancy sprung into action,” the Newtown Rotary Club said on social media after Schongalla-Bowman was recently recognized for her work. “Soon she began collaborating with PEN Forum, (Participate, Empower, Navigate), an independently funded Ministry Network in Pretoria.”
Through donations, the organization is able to supply the South African children with “Play and Learn Kits”, offer toys, and utilize tutoring tools to help with their education.
