Holy Family University To Host Inaugural Interfaith Symposium at Philadelphia Campus
Holy Family University will be hosting an event that will bring leaders and worshippers of all faiths together to find common ground.
Holy Family University Interfaith will proudly present its Inaugural Interfaith Symposium, “Honoring our Neighbor’s Faith: How Interfaith Conversations Build Community,” on Nov. 17 at 5 PM at the University’s Northeast Philadelphia campus.
The event will present a panel of speakers representing different faith traditions who will gather and share their beliefs and worldviews, and acknowledge the need for interfaith cooperation to counter the strains and difficulties being felt by communities in Philadelphia and the surrounding region, and in society at large. Dinner will be provided.
“We welcome these faith and community leaders to our University to discuss how, by working together, we can support and strengthen our community and society,” said Sister Rita Fanning, CSFN, vice president for Mission and Diversity at Holy Family University.
“Our Inaugural Interfaith Symposium helps fulfill our University’s mission to witness to the dignity of each person and the oneness of the human family and to respect the differences that multicultural contexts present to us in our communities.”
Featured speakers at the event will include:
- Imam Darwish Mustafa, Center City Mosque
- Dr. Brian Blair, Bryn Athyn College
- Rabbi Claire Green, Old York Road Temple-Beth Am
- Fr. Andrew Labatorio, Our Lady of Hope Parish
- Rajesh Patel, Samarpan Hindu Temple
