Wah Gwan has revised its business model to now accept cryptocurrency as payment.

In addition to the tried-and-true payment options of cash or credit, Wah Gwan — the New Hope provider of zesty spice combinations — is now accepting cryptocurrency. Marilyn Johnson twisted the cap off the details at NewsBreak.

“Wah Gwan has always considered itself a modern and elevated company,” said co-owner-operator Marcus Davis (a role shared with his wife, Rose). “It was only natural to start including crypto as we look at where e-commerce is headed. This is a way for us to build new relationships with customers and help them spend without converting to cash.”

The brand strategy behind the action is to broaden the product’s appeal across different consumer segments.

“Not only is it at the forefront of technology,” said Rose, “but users often represent a more cutting-edge clientele.”

She also cited a security advantage that crypto usage for purchases can eliminate certain kinds of fraud.

The payment option does require some diligence from the Davis’. They monitor values continually to ensure that payments neither exceed or lag product pricing.
