The new location will be the latest spot for the popular cafe and garden hybrid.

Terrain Gardens, the event-space brand, is augmenting its Delaware County and Chester County locations with a new one in Bucks County. The site — on the Doylestown Campus of Del Val University — is expected to open next summer, reports Kristen Schott at Philadelphia Magazine.

Terrain is driven by URBN, the apparel company behind Anthropologie and Urban Outfitters.

The new venue is being designed to blend the “…historic charm of the campus with modern farmhouse-inspired architecture,” said Brianna Alcorn, director of sales.

The site will have six spaces, both indoor and out. These options distinguish this Terrain site from its counterparts.

Other planned amenities include:

  • Ceremony garden with an orchard view
  • English-style garden house
  • Cocktail-reception-appropriate covered porch
  • Outdoor lounge with fire pit
  • Private suite with separate entrance

The event space-university blend is a strategic choice. The partnership between Terrain and DelVal will “build upon the school’s agricultural foundation and the brand’s seasonal, experiential approach to retail,” says Dave Ziel, URBN’s chief development officer.

Produce from the university’s culinary program will show up on the reception menus.

2023 bookings open next month. More on Terrain Gardens at Delaware Valley University is at Philadelphia Magazine.
