New Britain Township Police Department Has a Fiddler Under Its Roof
Police officers in New Britain Township are seeking the rightful owner of a statue of a fiddler that was recovered in one of the neighborhoods they routinely patrol. Kate Fishman chipped away at all the details to file the story in the Doylestown Patch.
The law enforcement professionals believe the piece may have been stolen Mar. 13, the day it was turned in.
The piece bears no indications of who owns the whimsical little guy, rendered with a jaunty cap and a violin ready to launch a merry tune. Its age and possible value also remain a mystery.
“No information or cooperation was provided by the person who had possession of it,” they wrote in a Facebook post about the object.
The department is hanging onto the statue for now but intends eventually to evict it from its premises. If the owner of Mr. Fiddler doesn’t come forward soon, the party who brought him in will be awarded custody.
Anyone with information can contact the New Britain Township Police Department at 215.822.1919 and refer to case number #2022-06-0970.
More information is at the Doylestown Patch.
