Bucks County Community College is hosting a panel discussion on the ongoing Ukraine crisis. The event — tomorrow, Mar. 23, from 12:00–1:00 p.m. — is available for in-person attendance at the college’s Epstein Campus at Lower Bucks (Bristol) or by Zoom.
There is no charge to attend either format of the panel discussion, whose participants comprise:
- Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick
- Iryna Mazur, honorary Phila. Consul for Ukraine
- James Fine, a former Quaker international affairs representative and relief worker
- Joseph Gowaskie, former professor of history at Rider University and a retired U.S. Army colonel
Moderator is community college faculty member Bill Pezza, of the school’s Social and Behavioral Science Department.
Rep. Fitzpatrick, Congressional Co-Chair of the Ukrainian Caucus, has been very vocal in denouncing the bellicose actions of Russian President Vladimir Putin. As recently as last week, he signed a letter to Congress asking for the Putin regime to be officially designated as a state sponsor of terrorism.
Rep. Fitzpatrick lived in Ukraine as an FBI agent. In early March, he visited Poland — the closest he could safely get to the Ukrainian border — to view the plight of the locals there firsthand.
Registration for the Bucks County Community College forum on the Ukraine crisis is online. The event is also accessible on Zoom.
