Choosing among top-notch Bucks County restaurants became a little harder a decision to make as 2021 unfolded. Five new dining experiences have opened in various communities across the past months, as Marilyn Johnson reported for the Philly Grub blog. And one more is about to hold its ribbon-cutting.

Amsterdam Coffee Bar, Lahaska

This new coffee shop sits just outside Peddler’s Village. The menu is beverage-and-baked-goods heavy, with hot/iced teas and racks of muffins and sweet buns.

As an interesting business-model twist, the coffee bar also displays and sells bonsai trees.

Ferry + Main, New Hope

New Hope’s Logan Inn, newly refreshed by a refurbishment, now sports spiffy new rooms and a new restaurant: Ferry + Main. Acclaimed Chef Greg Vassos runs the open-concept service, augmented by a cozy fireplace and large windows.

Harper and Penny’s, Doylestown

Harper and Penny’s is a full-service restaurant in the Main Street Marketplace, meaning a stroll before or after a meal is possible even as winter blows its chilly fury. The menu comprises upscale comfort food like shrimp and grits, sausage gravy on a biscuit, and a dessert cookie board.

Nikos Restaurant, Yardley

Nikos Restaurant serves New American and Mediterranean cuisines and craft cocktails. It’s owned and run by the same family that operated the legendary landmark diner Mastoris in Bordentown. Nikos has a chic-bistro vibe, and the menu will soon expand with a Sunday brunch.

OldeStone, New Hope

Oldestone (formerly Marsha Brown’s) has one of the most interesting dining settings in the county: a beautifully reimagined 1800s church. The overall culinary outlook is elegant steak and seafood, overseen by Executive Chef Seth Wheeler.

Bomba Taco + Bar, Newtown

This is the Bucks County newbie, opening sometime before the end of this month. The restaurant, in the Village at Newtown, comprises elevated tacos with exotic twists (Vietnamese meatball, Nashville hot chicken, for example). Vegan diners — or a meat-eater looking for something different — can nosh on the Harissa Cauliflower Wings.
